Kitchen Sketchbook: A Page a Day

WineFive more pages from this week. A page a day, using ingredients left on my worktop from the night before, or which we heading for the compost bin whilst preparing dinner. This time the photos were all taken once the page had dried.

  1. First, I enjoy the palettes and the freedom shown by the gestures of form and water and even words written loosely. Then, something in the IDEA of it that appeals, and I am reminded of a friend from the program at Ashridge who found himself sitting in his kitchen pantry sniffing the scents of turmeric, ginger, cardamon, and other spices from his Pakistani-infused youth, how that led to sharing stories of profound meaning and clarity about his growing up straddling worlds, so-to-speak…

    • Thank you Kathy, and I love the link with scent, although these are obviously visual images, I obviously was smearing and sniffing at the time too!
